Declutter animation

In my free time, I love working on passion projects that allow me to explore new creative avenues. This animation was born during my time at Clarify, where I had the opportunity to dedicate a few hours each month to personal development. I chose to use that time to create an animation from start to finish, both to expand my skills and to express my ideas visually.

The animation was inspired by Dennis Storm’s book "Weg Ermee," which emphasizes the importance of decluttering and focusing on what truly matters. Having gone through several moves and the process of decluttering myself, I wanted to use this project to inspire others to embrace minimalism and enjoy the freedom that comes with simplifying life.

My Role

  • Developed the concept and storyline based on "Weg Ermee" and my personal experiences with minimalism.

  • Created the script, storyboard, and animation independently, seeking feedback and guidance from colleagues at Clarify—Joris provided feedback on the script, while Else helped refine the storyboard.

  • Designed and animated the project using my growing knowledge of animation techniques.

Outcome

This project stands as my biggest passion project to date. I applied my animation skills and pushed myself creatively, resulting in a piece that communicates the liberating feeling of decluttering. It’s not just an animation; it’s a visual representation of the values I hold dear—simplicity, focus, and intentional living.

Impact

The animation reflects my journey in both personal growth and skill development. I hope it resonates with others and encourages them to embrace the idea of letting go of unnecessary items, freeing up space—both physically and mentally—for what truly matters.
